The Effect of Growth and Flowering According to Compost Materials on Pot - Flowers

Abstract
Studies were conducted to see the growth and flowering conditions using chaff, sawdust and peat whether or not they are feasible as compost materials for pot-flower culture of cyclamen and poinsettia.
1. With cyclamen, it was found that there is not significant difference in growth and flowering. But flowering was delayed about 5 more days by using chaff, sawdust than leaf-mold plot.
2. However, poinsettia, where sawdust mixed plot was inferior, growth and flowering were delayed, smaller size of bract in comparison with the other plots. Results of peat and chaff plot showed nonsignificant above leaf-mold plot on growing and flowering.
3. Compost materials showed that the content of organic materials and holding capacity of water or fertilizers at all the other plots were dependent on the distribution range of pH between 6.0-6.5. than at the plot of leaf mold mixed, to which the next was peat mixed plot in their feasibility.
